Our New Medical Center
Dr. Rex Sentell, D.V.M. talks about the new facility:
All of us at Palm City Animal Medical Center are excited about our new Medical Center, which will be finished in December and open to care for your pets in January of 2012; in fact, the construction is running ahead of schedule – a tribute to our excellent contractor and his crew. As you know, we’ve been outgrowing our present facility for some time. The new animal hospital will enable us to offer you even better service and care in a much more spacious and comfortable environment. The name change to Palm City Animal Medical Center reflects the fact that we’ll be able to expand comprehensive clinical, surgical, pharmaceutical, rehabilitation, and other services so we can take care of all of your pets needs under one roof.
A comprehensive state-of-the-art medical center has been a dream of mine for many years. Our medical team always strives to keep up with the latest research and treatment protocols, and to work with the best tools and equipment so we can quickly and accurately diagnose and perform needed treatments.
To that end, we’ve added more advanced equipment over the past few years in anticipation of the new medical center, including:
- A comprehensive animal physical therapy unit
- An extensive surgical operatory
- A surgical unit that replaces ligatures for blood vessels by sealing them (to cut down drastically on surgery time)
- Digital radiographs for both general and dental use
- Cold laser for healing wounds and chronic lesions
- Lasers for surgery/special procedures
- New blood machines (for faster diagnosis of problems in sick animals and for pre-surgical screening)
- Comprehensive lab, for rapid results of lab work and certain tests
…just to name a few.
The new Medical Center is equipped with additional innovations, enabling us to provide even better care for your pets, including:
- Designated room for a spiral CT scan
- Larger recovery and critical care area with oxygen kennels supplied by our own oxygen generator
- Comprehensive physical therapy & rehabilitation unit
- Special treatment room for our ultrasound, colonoscopy, and endoscopic diagnostic procedures
- Ten fully equipped exam rooms will cut down on your waiting times,
- Spacious park-like lobby will be a peaceful space to relax in
- Full service pharmacy and lab - overseen by a licensed pharmacy technician utilizing highly specialized equipment and secured contents – to contain a full range of medications and speed up the filling of your prescriptions
- Separate staffed phone room to take your phone calls more quickly and offer you more privacy of communication
- Hurricane proof building with generator able to run the entire Center
Snips & Snoozes– our full service boarding and grooming facility – will also be integrated into the new building, where Ani, Patti, Veronica, and their team members will have significantly more space to spruce up your pets and care for them when you are away and need a safe, nurturing environment for them until you return. It features:
- 4 levels of larger kennel/boarding spaces, from standard to executive luxury suites to offer a pleasant environment for your pets with water elements that calm them
- A full range of carefully selected products to keep their coats healthy and looking good
- Ready access to our Doctors (who will only be a few steps away), in case your pet needs an exam or treatment during their grooming or boarding stay
The new facility will also give us room to incorporate many additional enhancements (services, equipment, and procedures) that will give your pets careful tending and customized care.
We are excited to show you the new Palm City Animal Medical Center during our Grand Opening celebration, which will take place sometime during the month of January 2012. We’ll definitely keep you posted, and invite you to take the opportunity to tour the new facility and see what we’ve built for the care of your animals.
Please take a moment to link to us on facebook, too – so you can stay current on our upcoming events, special offers, and news that we think you’ll want to know about as pet owners.
Finally, we want you to know that our priorities will not change as we move forward. A state-of-the-art medical center will enhance our ability to do what we do best…but it’s the people inside the building that really make the difference and we won’t lose sight of that. Giving you and your pets the quality of care we give to our own pets and doing all we can to make sure that your experience with us is always positive – that will always be what makes us tick.
